Youth Work

Have you ever wondered what all this Jesus business is about? Why do people go to church, read the Bible and say they are Christians? And what was so special about that guy Jesus?

At Staplehurst Free Church we believe the children are very important. Through our various activities we attempt to provide for their needs, both Spiritual and social. whilst encouraging them to take an active and valued part in church life. To achieve this we have a number of regular activities arranged for the children:

A group of our young people on a ice skating trip.

On Sundays
Every 1st and 3rd Sunday the 10.30am service is a Family Service to which all are welcome. These services are not totally aimed at the children, however the format is more accessible to them.

During all other Sunday morning services there is a range of activities organised for the under 18's

Crèche For pre-school children.
Sunday School Various groups, catering for children from 5 - 11 years old
Buzz For young people at Secondary school. When appropriate Buzz splits into junior and senior groups.

Youth Band

At SFC we are very proud to have not only a main worship group, but also a youth band. The young people have got together, organised themselves and practiced hard and are now regularly involved in leading the worship in services. Their group is made up of a talented bunch of musicians and singers  and includes piano, flute, sax, drums and guitars. Occasionally it is necessary to include an "honorary youth" to replace an absent member, but we are working on training up new talent to avoid that problem.
Here they are in action.
