Leadership structure

At our recent extraordinary church meeting it was obvious that not everyone was aware of the leadership structure of our church so we felt a short explanation might help.

We have a Leadership team who are responsible for the ongoing vision and day-to-day running of the church both in regard of spiritual and practical input. This team is made up of our pastoral elder, Clive Jones, who was appointed in 2000, and six elected deacons who each serve a 3 year term of office but can re-stand if they so desire provided they are re-elected with a 75% vote of the members voting. These six deacons are Beryl Mitchell (Treasurer), Bob Howse (Fabric Deacon), Nigel Minett, Ryan Ahern, Darren Hart and Corinne Laming.

Our housegroup ministry has the oversight of Housegroup leaders who share some pastoral responsibility of the group members as well as the week by week leading of the Bible Studies conducted.
Monday morning
ladies “Know your Bible” group-Marie Martin. Tuesday morning ladies homegroup-  led by Maggie Martin and Carole Leckie
Tuesday evening
homegroup- shared leadership between members of the group.
There are two Wednesday evening groups one is under the leadership of and Bob and Mary Howse, the other has shared leadership between the group members.

In the last few years we have demolished our old building and begun to meet in the local school hall. We have planning permission for a new building and have set up a group of professionals to look into cost effective ways of achieving the new premises. This 'Building Under Review Group' (affectionately known as BURP) is made up of  Bob  Howse, Terence Hawgood, Richard Hawkes, Adrian Perry, Steve Martin and Roy Laming.

Because the church is a legal entity set up under a trust deed, we also need a group of Trustees. The legal Title to the land and buildings of SFC is, for convenience, held by The United Kingdom Evangelisation Trust (U.K.E.T.) who are appointed as Custodian Trustee. They hold the land and buildings upon trust and permit the same to be used as a place of worship. They will, at the request of the “Managing Trustees”, sell  or lease the property etc. These Managing Trustees are as follows:-
Bob Howse
, Ryan Ahern, Peter Jeffery, Beryl Mitchell and  Terence Hawgood (chairman)
