Staplehurst
Free Church aims to be an asset to the community of Staplehurst Village,
serving some of the many diverse needs.
Our Toddler club meets
weekly on a Thursday morning at the Village Centre at 10am, providing a safe place for small children to
play whilst their parents are able to make friends, socialise and enjoy a
cup of coffee or tea. All parents, grandparents or carers with their pre-school children
are welcome.
We also have a fortnightly
youth club - 'Outreach', where we organise various activities such as film
nights, cooking, quizzes, as well as the usual table tennis, snooker, etc.
The club welcomes all young people from Year 5 upwards and meets in the Village Youth Centre.
As part of the outreach to
the community and also to serve our own and other churches we have a
puppet team, known as Ps'arms
Puppets. The team is made up of a mixture of adults and children. They
regularly take Family Services at S.F.C. and other local churches, as well
as taking school assemblies. They reach out into the community through
their involvement in local groups such as the W.I. and local events such
as the Village Carnival.
As a church we are actively
involved in Staplehurst Primary School. Clive, our pastor regularly takes
assemblies, as does the Ps'arms Puppet team. One of our members is currently Chairman of the Governors and some of our members are
on the teaching and support staff.
